Despite what you may think, it is a fact that bartending will provide financial stability for broke single parents.

Yes, take it from someone who is a single mother, full time student, and part-time bartender herself. Tending bar provides my family with enough money to cover rent, all other bills, food, clothing, fun stuff, and even enough for savings.

Some may be turned off by the idea of single moms part-time bartending because of some social stigmas or stereo-types associated with bartenders. These views are outdated and don't merit judgements in today's day and age. We are 21st century women providing for our families the best way we can, what is more courageous than that? You are entitled to your opinions, but try to keep an open mind and let me explain why bartending is the most profitable part-time job for single moms.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The biggest challenge of being a single mom and going to school full time is TIME itself. Taking classes from 8-3 during the day means that I have to find work at night. Homework and house chores only left me with work availability on the weekends. So, the only place for me to find work was at a restaurant or bar. I found a job as a bartender at a 4 star restaurant located in a wealthy town in Mississippi.

A lot of people work at restaurants and tip money is still big, even in today's economy. I personally work with people that have masters degrees and others who sell insurance. People with "regular" jobs have found they need to moonlight at restaurants just to make ends meet. A server at a high end restaurant will walk out on a Friday or Saturday with over $100 easy. A bartender can walk with almost double that.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the restaurant industry, let me explain why bartenders generally make more money than servers.

Clientele: Most people sitting and dinning at a restaurant bar are well off. I wouldn't go so far as to say they are all "rich," but when someone sits and eats in the bar, they are usually going to drink, and if you don't know, sales from alchole can be as much, if not more than food sales. Plus, when people drink, they are more relaxed and are therefore more inclined to be generous with their tip.

Atmosphere: Generally when someone dines as a fancy restaurant, they will be served very formally. A server must go through many required steps and procedures that are geared toward making the guests feel like they are kings and queens. Guests in the dining room expect grand service. Guests in the bar, however, are looking for a much more relaxed atmosphere. An atmosphere conducive to loud talking, laughing, and drinking. The relaxed atmosphere leaves room for flirting and conversation, which lead to nice tips and job offers. *wink *wink

Turn em - and Burn em: This saying refers to the speed at which a restaurant "turns over" people. Most restaurants expect to keep a table for an hour or less. The more fancy restaurants can expect to keep a table for almost two hours. The bar always has a higher turn over of people than the dinning room. This means collecting more tips more frequently.

Bartending, like with any job, has its pros and cons.

PROS

Short Shifts - compared to working a 9-5

Great Pay - you will go home with cash in your pocket, plus a salary check

Independence - you may only have to work with one other bartender

Fun - its a job where smiling, laughing, and flirting are all expected

Never Boring - bartending is a fast pace job with lots of excitement

No Education - no need for bardending school, just read a bar book

Creative - mixing new drinks allows you to be creative and involved

Your Own Boss - the bar is usually separate from yelling managers

Interpersonal - a perk if you like connecting with and making people happy

Flexible - most bars and restaurants will hire for weekend work only

Tip Out - bartenders usually get a percentage of whatever the servers earn

Connection - many business men and women eat in the bar and making connections with these people can benefit you in the future.

CONS

Late Shifts - personally I'm a night owl, so this is a perk, you may not like it

Babysitter - you may need to hire a babysitter while you work late shifts

Labor - may have to pick up cases of beer and wine and haul ice buckets

Cleanliness - most bars require rigorous cleaning and maintenance

Jerks - deal with drunk rude guests, but it doesn't happen often

If you have personality, a great smile, humour, and a strong work ethic, you should give bartending a try. Bartending is not trashy and certainly not a sin. Personally, bartending has been a complete life saver for my family. Without it I wouldn't have been able to move out of my parents house, save up money, or pay for school.

Bartending offers single moms many of the features in a job that they need like flexibility, no educational requirements, short shifts, and great pay.

If outward appearances is the only thing stopping you from bartending, then look for a bartending position within fine dinning. This sort of bartending is very professional and profitable. Dress is very flattering and mature, and so is behavior. No shorts and little tops at these sort of places.

If outward appearances don't bother you, then go for it hunny. Look for a bar or pub located in the most populated area you can. Bars with live music are always jumpin. Be sure to check out a potential bartending joint before you put in your application. Look for one thing and one thing only. LOTS OF PEOPLE. The busier the bar is, the more money you will make.

Part-Time bartending for single moms is definitely a stepping stool toward other opportunities. Bartending will prepare you for high-stress situations, and teach you how to think on your toes. It will give a boost to your conversation skills, and teach you the art of deflecting negative comments with grace and charm.

I wouldn't trade my bartending experience for anything. My time spent bartending has made me a better woman and a better mother to my daughter, which is the ultimate goal of any single mother.

Summer is fast approaching and dreams of vacation are dancing around in the heads of college students and graduates alike. Manys dreams of vacation will be dashed upon the rocks of reality when they realize how much a vacation actually costs! Vacations are a luxury item, not a need.

Personally, I have not been able to afford a vacation in over 6 years, but this year will be different. This year I have the extra money available to spend on a much deserved vacation. The best part is, I'll be paying for the entire trip with the extra money I've earned and saved.

The best way to go on a vacation and not break the bank or borrow money to do it, is to budget for the trip ahead of time. Setting aside money for a full year before your intended vacation will be less of a strain on your monthly expenses. Here's what you do:

Make a Vacation Jar and put it somewhere you can see it! Looking at it every day will inspire and encourage you to be disciplined with your money. You can even set up a coin jar for your children. Glue on a picture of the place your family will be vacationing to and let them decorate it however they like. Letting them in on the saving will teach them healthy money habits that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. Keep it fun and they will jump at the chance to participate. When they grow up they will think it's fun to save money.

Saving up coins is not enough to fund a vacation, you will have to earn extra cash to supplement your primary income.

Earning Extra Income is the second part of this process. Taking on a second job is impossible for most, especially for college students and single families. There are some alternative ways of earning extra money that I have personally had success with.

1) Make Money Online

Inbox Dollars is an online Get Paid To site that pays users to read emails, watch commercials, shop, and browse the web. You can also complete trial offers and surveys.

CashCrate is another GPT site that I have had success with. It is alot like Inbox Dollars. Here is my CashCrate payment proof. CashCrate also has an awesome referral program that pays a great percentage.

Amazon Mechanical Turk employes "workers" to complete tasks for paying companies that computers are not capable of processing. I have made over $80.00 with them in 6 mths. I used it to buy text books.

Between all three of these sites I've earned around $130 since the end of September 2010. Doesn't sound like much, but if I would have had the time I wanted to work for these Get Paid To sites, I would have tripled my earnings.

2) College Students - Sell class notes for cash. I typed up an organized study guide with terms and T/F for my real estate class last semester, and sold them for $5.00 each. People paid, and I got $30.00

3) Donate Plasma - For a fee of course. Many states pay healthy donors anywhere from $20-$40 a pop for a donation of plasma. If you qualify, you can donate twice a week! It takes 2 hrs to donate and you must schedule an appointment.

Cut Costs is the last ingredient to this Vacation savings recipe. It doesn't matter how much extra money you make, you will never be able to get ahead and put money aside if you can not lower your expenses. A few simple ways to cut your costs is by just not paying full price for things. Shopping for clothes out of season is a tried and true method of lowering your costs. I shop for my daughter this way at Walmart. Also consider using coupons when grocery shopping.

Reevaluate your monthly bills. You could be paying too much for things like your cellphone service or car insurance. Switch providers if you can find a better deal with another company. Eliminating unnecessary monthly expenses will help put money in your pocket, or better yet, in your Vacation Jar!

If you're like me and want to escape to Margaritaville, then follow these easy steps to Save Money for Summer Vacation. Reward yourself, you deserve it! Just don't over do it. Simple vacations to the beach or camping with the family are always cheaper than trips to resorts or cruises. Remember, it's about the experience, making memories, and most of all relaxing!

Good Luck

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I firmly believe that no one should pay full price for ANYTHING!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">During my personal quest toward an even more frugal lifestyle, I have learned that 90% of the time, there is a coupon, promo code, discount, sale, or clearance price that may be applied to an item; reducing it's full price. If you wait long enough for this to happen, you can reap some hefty savings.

An Item will NOT stay the same price while in circulation simply because of supply and demand. When suppliers supply too much merchandise for an item that does not equally reflect the true demand for that item, we end up with fabulous places like Overstock.com. Stores like TJ Max, for example, sell dresses at least 50% off the original ticket price.

Is the 50% off dress 50% less the quality it once was when it's price was at 100%? NO WAY!

I recently strolled through Walmart's after Christmas inventory and found everything I needed to wrap presents for next year at 75% off the original price. Sure I'll have to store it until the time I need it, but I would much rather spend a little money now and store the item VS waiting until the week before Christmas next year and have no other choice but to pay full price.

I have been using the "Save & Store" method for my clothes shopping with great results.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I recently moved out of my parents house. While living there, my daughter and I shared a room and bathroom. There wasn't room to store much of anything, so the "Save & Store" method of saving money was limited to my daughters clothes only.

My daughter is 6 and anyone who has kids knows how fast they grow, not to mention how messy they can be. Early in my parenting, I learned the hard way that the second you put a $40.00 Easter dress on a baby, it's the very next second that baby pukes green pees and carrots all down the front; causing me, the next second after that, to have a mild heart attack.

It's not practical or wise to buy children expensive clothes, they will ruin them quicker than you can say "Lean over your Plate!" So what's a mom on a budget to do?

Buy your child clothes out of season when they are on SUPPER sale!

I have been buying my daughter school and play clothes this way since she was an infant. Many retail stores like Walmart, Target, Sears, and JC Penny will drastically reduce their winter clothes in the summer and vice verse. I have saved tons of money buying her clothes 75% - 90% off original price. Shopping this way is even cheaper than consignment.

If you are a newbie at shopping for clothes out of season, here some tips and hints for maximizing your savings.

1. Don't strike at the first round of sale items. Be patient for the major reductions that will come later. Retail stores will begin putting out clearance summer clothes as soon as it starts getting cold outside. This first round of reduced price clothing is usually not where you will find your best deals. The deeply discounted summer items will be found in the middle to end of winter. Stores are desperate to clear out old inventory to make room for the new.

2. Grabbing the best deals will take a bit of pre-shopping. When you are at Walmart buying milk and eggs, swing by your targeted area to scope out the current sale items. There may be a whole sale rack or two. These items may only be slightly reduced in price. Chances are, they will be reduced even more in a few days or weeks. Pre-shopping the same items every week will greatly increase your chances of snagging the sweet deal.

3. Know beforehand what a "steal" is for you. Personally, I will only buy an article of clothing if it is 75% off or more. Buying a $8.00 shirt for only a dollar is a "steal" for me. You might be satisfied with buying the same $8.00 shirt for $4.00. Know what your budget is and stick with it. I have my daughters entire summer wardrobe already bought for less than $40.00, shoes included.

4. It never hurts to ask. Places like Belk and Sears will sometimes tell you when and where a big sale on a specific item will take place. Unpublicised mini sales go on in department stores all the time. Next time you are in one of these stores, ask the clerk when a certain item will go on sale next, or if a sale item will be reduced even further. Most Sales Clerks will share with you the secret you want to know. If not, well...It didn't hurt to ask.

5. Try Walmart. I buy the majority of my daughters clothes at Walmart. She is extremely active and clumsy; the most deadly combination to a new pair of clothes. When, and I mean when and not if, she ruins her play clothes, I will feel better knowing that only $5.00 worth of clothing was destroyed and not $35.00. FYI - Walmart Clothes Shrink!

6. Buy as Size Up. You may run into problems when determining what size to buy. My daughter is 6 years old and wears a 6 slim jean and a size 7/8 top, so it's safe to say that the preceding summer she will still be in a size 6 bottom and size 7/8 top. I've been shopping this way for a while and I know my daughters body, so there is no doubt. If you do however question the appropriate size to buy, ALWAYS BUY UP. Your child will always grow into it so it is not a wasted purchase.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">In my never ending quest to make extra money. I stumbled across another GPT site. GPT stands for Get Paid To, and these sites actually pay people to work for them. I'm a member of two other GPT sites already, so I knew exactly what to do to start earning money right away. Inboxdollars is unique from other Get Paid To sites in a number of ways...

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Most Get Paid To sites only offer its members limited money making opportunities by means of reading surveys and complete offers or tasks. Inboxdollars does as well, but they also have a few unique money making features that set them apart and above other GPT sites, in my opinion.

The main difference between Inboxdollars and other GPT sites is that it pays members to read daily E-mails! Hence the name. I don't know about you, but I check my E-mail about five times a day. You will only be paid 2-3 cents per E-mail, but it's easy money and it adds up.

InboxDollars Videos pays 2-4 cents for watching commercials and other short videos. They simply flash two numbers across the video and at the end, ask you what those two numbers were. If you paid attention, receiving cash credit should be easy enough for just about anyone. I personally mute it and just watch the clip. New videos are uploaded every day so the earnings down this avenue never get stale.

Another money making opportunity unique to Inboxdollars is the Grocery Coupon feature that pays $.10 for each coupon used. Simply download the coupon toolbar, select the coupons you want, print them out, and use them next time you grocery shop. After a few months you will be credited cash in your Inboxdollars account.

By far the easiest way to earn money with Inboxdollars is by browsing the web. Inboxdollars has its own toolbar that can be installed. You automatically get $1.00 for downloading it, but the earnings don't end there. You can use their toolbar to search the Internet earning you 2 cents per search, up to five searches a day. It's only too bad Google doesn't pay me to search the Internet or else I'd be filthy rich! ; )

Many Get Paid To sites offer cash rewards for shopping online to such places as Walmart and Petsmart. These GPT sites will deposit a percentage of your online purchase into your user account. Inboxdollars hands down offers the HIGHEST percentage of cash back available to shoppers. So, if you become a member at Inboxdollars and shop online through their website and spend $50.00 at Walmart.com, with a 4% return, you will receive $2.00 in your account. How cool is that?!

Completing sponsored offers is the bread and butter of most Get Paid To sites. As a member of several GPT sites, I can say with authority that Inboxdollars pays the most money per offer. In comparison to CashCrate, the majority of the SAME offers completed instead through Inboxdollars will pay its members anywhere between $.50 - $1.00 MORE per offer.

Referral Rewards with Inboxdollars is similar to CashCrate's referral program. Referral Rewards means you will be credited a portion of the money earned by those you referr to Inboxdollars. These referrals must be active in order for you to earn money off of them. If not, Inboxdollars will drop those referrals from the site. This may seem like a shock at first glance, but it is really a blessing, because Inboxdollars is looking for quality workers, not quantity.

Gold Membership with Inboxdollars is available to all members who reach the payout threshold, which is $30.00 by the way. Some of the better Gold Member Benefits include automatically weekly payouts and more referral rewards, among a few other perks.

All in all I would give Inboxdollars two thumbs up! The sign up Bonus of $5.00 is a great incentive to get started. At this point I am only $5.60 away from receiving my first payout of $30.00. Earning Money with Inboxdollars has been fun, and is a great addition to any ones Online Money Making endeavors.

It has become an extremely successful avenue to make money for those willing to put in the effort.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Experimenting with ebay has been on my list of things to do for a while now, but it was not the easiest or quickest way to earn money, so I procrastinated.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Recently my boyfriend bought us tickets to the Saints VS Steelers football game in New Orleans on October 31st, and there is no greater motivator to earn extra money than the inevitable expenses associated with a trip to New Orleans.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">So it was time to declutter and sell some of my unused items on ebay. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I live with my parents and share a room with my daughter. So I don't really have much "stuff" because there is really no room for it. I do have a surplus of toys though.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">My family, ex husband, and his family tend to go overboard with the Christmas presents. My daughter only really plays with art stuff, so I had some old dolls and other toys that were still in the box from last Christmas that were just screaming to be sold.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">You may not have unused toys laying around the house, but you wouldn't believe what people would buy, especially on a worldwide market like ebay. We've all heard the expression, "One mans trash is another mans treasure," well ebay is a shinning example of that age old fact.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I had success on ebay. My personal story, in a nutshell, is that I sold all my items, made a profit of $71.00, and my costs lowered my income to around $36.00. Not the greatest outcome, but it was my first go around with ebay.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Making extra money selling unused items on ebay is complex and definitely not as easy as <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">selling class notes<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> for instant cash. However, it's easier than say keeping up with a blog...
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Pros and Cons

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Selling on ebay was fun! I found myself watching my own auctions and getting all excited when I saw people bidding on my "junk" One mans trash is another mans treasure.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Decluttering is always great. There is no need to hold on to things that you "may" need one day. You can't take it with you, so might as well sell it and make some $ off of it!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Selling on ebay gave me a project to sink my teeth into. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our jobs and more pressing responsibilities that we get fatigued and bored. Experimenting with ebay put a little spice in my life.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Ebay gave me the opportunity to apply alot of the knowledge I learned in school! Marketing, accounting, psychology, communication, and business skills previously learned were all used when selling my inventory.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The pros of ebay far outweigh the cons. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The only real con I had against my ebay experiment was the shipping! Maybe it's just my inexperience showing here, but I didn't realize how much it costs to ship things. I'm not just talking about the actual postage alone. The price of boxes, tape, filler, and postage almost made selling on ebay not worth the hassle.

I sold a Dora and Diego Aquadoodle for $28.00 + $5.99 shipping and handling. That was my highest selling item. It ended up costing me almost $25.00 to ship it! It was so large, that I had to buy a box at UPS which cost me over $10.00.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Tips and Suggestions
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">After everything was all said and done, I analyzed the experiment and found a few glitches, that once improved, could greatly increase your chances of successfully making money on ebay.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Research, Research, Research! It's best to be prepared when tackling a giant like ebay. Jumping in head first without reading up on the subject may lead to frustration, loss of money, or waste of time. None of which are good.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">To make a good profit on a sale, you MUST and I mean MUST take into consideration the price of shipping. When looking around your house for something to sell; I would recommend selling the DVDs vs. the tools. Selling something heavy and odd shaped means extra cost for packaging and shipping. Cardboard boxes are expensive! A fact I wish I had known beforehand.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Take your item to the post office before you decide to put it up for auction. They have a selection of flat rate boxes that will always ship for the same price no matter the weight. Its a good deal, except the boxes are pretty small. If your item fits one of the boxes, then you will know exactly how much to charge for shipping.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Google your item and see how much it's going for on other online stores like Amazon or Walmart. If it is selling for $15.00 there, then by all means, sell your item for roughly the same price.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">One Thing to Look Out For
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">When selling something on ebay using the auction format; set a reserve. A reserve is the lowest price you are willing to accept as payment for that item. I sold 5 teddy bears and didn't set a reserve. They ended up selling for only $1.99 with a $2.99 shipping charge. I lost money on that sale. Good thing it was only some stuffed animals.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Have you ever sold anything on ebay?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Did you run across any of the same problems I did? How did you fix them?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I usually type up class notes and study guides before each test. This is my tried and true study method. I find that typing up the notes forces me to organize and categorize the information, thus making it easier for my brain to retain the info for the test.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I typed up the notes for my Principles of Real Estate test last week and decided this was the perfect situation to test my experiment. My Real Estate class is a night class with only 9 other students enrolled. Many of these students are older and very pressed for time. If anyone would buy my notes, it would be someone who didn't have the time to prepare, and someone who had the money to shell out for a study guide.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I typed up the notes very neatly, being careful to maintain correct spelling and grammar, and separated them by chapter. I also looked online for the answers to the end of the chapter quiz questions. I also typed up some practice fill in the blank questions.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It was easy to market the product (my notes) to a smaller group of students. With a smaller group of students, I was able to talk with them on more of a one on one basis. The notes were packaged neatly and looked very professional. It also helped that I had over a 100 A average in the class. A point that I made very clear when trying to push the sale. It cost me nothing to print them out, and I decided to sell them for $5.00 each.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I also advertised that I had notes with a study guide to sell through class email 4 days before the intended sell date. This gave buyers a heads up to bring the money with them to class. I also broke a $20.00 and brought the change with me to class. I didn't want to lose a potential sale by not having change to break large bills.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">So what was the outcome?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I sold ALL my class notes in one sitting. I earned an EASY $35.00! That is complete profit.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Yes it took time to organize, type, package, and advertise, but I was going to do most of that anyway for myself. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Selling Class Notes<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> is a profitable and easy way to make extra money. Students are willing to pay you to do the hard work for them. All you have to do is print it out and sell it!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">If<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> you are an extremely busy single mother / full time student like me, then you are probably eating out 3-5 nights a week. Personally, I've found that it's way more convenient to eat out than buy groceries, cook them, and wash up afterwords. It's also far less wasteful.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Eating out can be expensive, but it doesn't have to be. My daughter and I have found some great places that are willing to let your kids eat free!
Eating out is a huge financial cost. The adverage person spends $10 a day for lunch. That's $50 a week, and about $200 a month! That's the price of a car note.

Packing your own lunch is a great way to cut costs, but many people don't have access to a refrigerator or a microwave. So that eliminates eating leftovers, salads, and any sandwhiches with mayo.

Whether you're working in an office or walking around campus all day (like me), you need something easy, hardy, and most of all healthy.

Fall has brought us an excellent solution...

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Soups packed in a thermos are the perfect way to cut costs and eat healthy. Most of all, this "packed lunch" is extremely convenient and easy.

What you'll need:

A good Thermos. I would suggest you invest in a thermos with a vacuum. The vacuum seal holds in the heat longer.

Some yummy recipies. I would suggest using up bits and pieces of whatever is left in the fridge! Carrots, mushrooms, chicken, beans, and tomatoes are all essential ingrediences for soups! Eliminating waste by using leftovers is another way to cut costs.

A spoon. Just any old spoon will work. Some thermoses come with a top that can double as a bowl.

Some crackers or crutons! Don't go out and buy any. Next time you are out at a restaurant that offers free crackers and butter, just snag a few and slip them into your purse! It's not stealing, techniquelly.

Soups are easy to make, and can be done a few days ahead of time for convenience.

Resources:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">First of all <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">CashCrate<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> is free to sign up. Who doesn't like free?!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">CashCrate<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> is easy to do. The web page is easy to navigate and 100% user friendly. Complete with User Forums, How To Videos, and Tutorials.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It's Legitimate. The site is filled with photos of real people with real checks. I will post a picture of my check once it comes in.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">CashCrate<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> offers users several ways of making money by way of surveys, offers, playing games, or the with their referral program.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Money can be earned in little time. I only do 30 mins to an hour a day.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I do encourage everyone to do their own research to form their own opinion about something, before they dive in head first.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I read reviews on <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">CashCrate<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> for days before I signed up. Many of the negative reviews had the same few complaints. Those being:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Their email was full of junk mail.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">They had unexpected charges on their credit cards.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Cookies gave their computer bugs.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">They had extra charges on their cell phone bill.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Now, fear not, there are safe ways around all of these hick-ups.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">To avoid your email box being bombarded with junk mail, simply create a new email address specifically for <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">CashCrate<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">. I would suggest a free Gmail account. I created two, because after further research, I found that when you switch up the email account, it helps speed up the approval process. (Dont' ask me to explain the science behind that)

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">People, use common sense, don't give your credit card numbers out so easily! I mean, sure they are trying to lure you in with temptations of money and such, but don't be a fool. My suggestion is to simply avoid the offers that ask for your credit card numbers all together. Just say no!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">After EACH offer or survey completed, delete your computers cookies. Simple as that.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Never-EVER give out your cell phone number. If the offer asks for it, close out of that one and look for another one.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">You won't make a ton of money with this site, but it will supplement your primary source of income. Over a years time, you could earn enough money for a new stove or school clothes for the kids.
Treat yourself. No no no, I'm not talking about going out there and getting that $40.00 pedi you've been wanting. Those sort of treats are WAY out of the budget. If you do get the pedi, it will be great, but there will also be that added guilt of spending too much money with nothing to show for it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Ok, so today is the first day I'm selling snacks on campus. I have a cute brown picnic basket filled with a bunch of goodies. My initial feeling that, this could be a good way of making extra money, but I've been at school for almost an hour and a half with no luck.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here are the contents of my goodies basket:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Raisins

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Slim Jim Jerky

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Peanut Butter Crackers

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Honey Granola Bars

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Organic Fruit and Nut Granola Bars

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I only bought the slim jims, but everything else I already had at the house. I'm parked in the computer lab in the business school with my goodies basket wide open and a sign that says...
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">HUNGRY? YUMMY SNACKS FOR SALE!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Not the most original advertising, but its to the point. I'm a to the point sort of a gal. I have one class at 9:25, then after that, I'm going to set up shop (so to say) in the study lounge.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I'm actually kind of excite about this experiment because it gives me the opportunity to test all sorts of things.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Which snacks sell the best

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Which snacks don't

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Should I use more color on my sign

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Are students more interested in healthy snacks, or junk ones

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Does my personal appearance affect whether students buy or not

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Location Location Location

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Temperature outside

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I'm going to test this experiment for 2 weeks. If I don't make any money, then I'm going to move on to something else. If it does generate extra income, I'll continue the experiment further to discover what elements work best and which ones were a dud.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Wish me luck
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Emily
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">(UPDATE 10/22/10)
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Ok so this experiment was a complete failure. I didn't sell a single snack. My daughter and I ended up slowely eating up everything because they wern't selling. Though I didn't really try to interact with people and push product.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I'm sure it would have worked out if I would have put a bit more effort into it, but I'm not really social at school. I'm focused on studying.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I also didn't really like lugging around food all day, and people looked at me like I was a wierdo. Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01222300282096131306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9049120653660454660.post-13920240805863193352010-10-10T20:12:00.004-05:002011-01-13T14:40:02.745-06:00Put Money in your Pocket Now

Those of us struggling financially don't really need to hear about saving money for retirement. We need money now. I have found a few easy ways to put money in your pocket instead of tossing it out the window. You can accomplish all these quick fixes in less that a few hours. A few nip-tucks on your monthly bills can really add up on the savings.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Direct TV Refer a Friend Offer

Direct TV is offering existing customers the opportunity to save $10 dollars on their monthly bill for 10 consecutive months for each friend that they refer up to 10 friends. That is quite an offer! All you have to do is give your friend your account number and when they sign up, you get the savings!

Compare Care Insurance Companies

You may be overpaying for car insurance. Check online or call local insurance agencies for a free quote. There is no point in sticking with your existing car insurance company if another one is willing to give you the same coverage for a lower rate. Even if you only shave off a few bucks, that's a few more dollars you can keep in your pocket.

Start Saving Money in One Minute

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">BillShrink <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">is a cool website that can save you money in one minute! It's a free service that helps you save money on everyday bills like your cell phone and credit cards.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Cell phone providers, in particular, automatically tack on certain features to you phone bill that may be causing you to over pay. Cell phone contracts and services are so complex sometimes, that most people don't even realize what they are signing up for exactly. Omitting those unneeded features can really put money in your pocket.

BillShrink can even locate the cheapest gas in your area! Remember, every penny counts.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Walmart Prescriptions

For those of us who don't have any health insurance (present company included), paying full price for prescriptions can be a huge cost. Thanks to Walmart and their list of $4.00 and $10.00 prescriptions, that cost can be cut down to barely nothing. I can personally vouch for this money saving tip. I save over $70.00 per month through Walmart's Pharmacy. I simply called Walmart and they transferred my prescriptions right over from my previous provider.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Have any of you had success with these quick fixes? Tell me about it!
Know of any other easy ways to put money in your pocket now? Share with the rest of us!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Selling pictures online is a lot harder than I expected. I researched it for quite a bit and decided to go with <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Dreamstime<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">. Dreamstime was reviewed as one of the best stock photo agencies due to its high commission (50%) for participating photographers. Many people have made money through Dreamstime, I however, had no success.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I submitted 20 pictures over the past 10 days and all were rejected.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I believe the main reasons why I was unable to find success at Dreamstime were...

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I didn't have a good enough camera. I have a Sony digital camera with a great many pixels, but it was simply not able to take the quality of pictures that Dreamstime was accepting.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I don't own the proper editing tools to clean up my pictures. Most photographers have photoshop to help them edit their digital pictures. I'm not in the financial position to spend money on a photo editing program.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The sight is large and complex. I mulled over the FAQ's, Help, and User guides for what seamed like hours. I had to study up on photography terms I was unfamiliar with, spent half a day researching proper key wording tools, and all for nothing. All my pictures were rejected.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Uploading, editing, describing, and categorizing pictures is way too time consuming for me. Dreamstime is not compatible with newbies at all. It is more suited as a money making tool for those with photography experience and the time to product good quality pictures.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Yes Dreamstime pays a good commission, but that commission is worthless if none of your pictures are accepted. My personal opinion is that selling pictures online is a waste of time.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The point of earning money online is to maximize your profit by exerting the least amount of time and energy to do so. I'm only going to give my two thumbs up for money making opportunities that can actually make you money.

I do have a few more pictures that I have yet up upload. Since I've taken the time to take them, I guess I'll give Dreamstime one more chance, and upload this last batch. Hopefully with some success.

Overall I would give Sell Pictures Online, two thumbs down. The costs, in this case, outweigh the benefits. The return on investment is slim to none.

Have you had success selling pictures online? Tips or Advise you'de like to share?
Why do you think I was unable to find success with this experiment? Comments Welcome.
Perhaps Dreamstime wasn't the correct avenue. Know a better place?

Good Luck
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">As I get older, the more "credit" becomes important. In order to be approved to buy a car, home, or furniture, my "credit" must be run. But why? I find myself asking a lot of questions, like what is "credit" exactly, and why must it be run? What is a "credit score," and why is mine where it is?

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My transition into adulthood will no longer allow me to be ignorant about the subject. So, in the spirit of learning and self betterment, I am going to tackle this beast head on.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Credit (wiki definition): is the provision of resources by one party to another party where that second party does not reimburse the first party immediately (thereby generating a <span style="color: #0645ad; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">debt<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">), but instead arranges either to repay or return those resources (or other materials of equal value) at a later date.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Basically, in the simplest of terms, this means that you buy something, and don't pay for it immediately, but arrange to pay for it later.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Credit Facts:

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">In order for a company or bank to give you a line of credit (ie a loan or credit card), they must first run a credit check. What are they checking for exactly?

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">These companies are checking for creditworthiness. Creditworthiness is a fancy way of saying they are checking for proof that you are likely to pay off that debt. What kind of proof? <span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">They want to see that you have been given a line of credit in the past and paid it off on time. This shows that you are responsible and in turn boosts your creditworthiness. Where do they get this proof from?

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This proof is found on your credit report or credit history. Credit reports come from a <span style="color: #0645ad; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">credit bureau<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">. Every time you fill out an application for a credit card, or loan, that bank or company forwards all your information to a credit bureau to verify your creditworthiness.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">There are 3 main credit bureaus: <span style="color: #0645ad; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Experian<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">, <span style="color: #0645ad; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">TransUnion<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">, and <span style="color: #0645ad; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Equifax<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Your credit score is determined by your credit report.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Each credit bureau issues its own model for scoring credit, but the most known and most widely used credit score model is FICO.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">A FICO score is between 300 - 850. 300 being terrible, and 850 being perfect.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">More in depth posts on credit to come...
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01222300282096131306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9049120653660454660.post-67514896389103128912010-10-02T10:51:00.002-05:002011-04-14T14:46:48.376-05:00Save Money - One Coin at a Time

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">There are many methods and tips out there to help you save money. Some advise you to set aside a percent of your earnings. Others tell you to simply deposit $10 a week into your savings account. Both methods work, of course, and they are both relatively easy, but I've discovered something better.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Like most Americans, I live paycheck to paycheck. I'm 26, and saving for my retirement a million years from now is not going to help me make it through the next year's financial challenges. Personally, living paycheck to paycheck is alright (for now), but it comes with many concerns. The main concern is the lack of financial flexibility. Meaning, I can financially make it through the daily maintenance of living, but If something big or unexpected happens, I'm screwed!

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">If my car breaks down, or my computer gets stolen, I will have no spare cash to cover that expense. I will be forced to take out a loan, or sell something, or even worse, borrow money from the parents. My inner future CPA won't allow myself to be put in such a position!

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">So, how do I save money for unexpected expenses? One Coin at a Time...

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">My tried and true method for saving emergency money is simply this:

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">CASH - You have to use cold hard cash to make this work.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Whenever you buy something, give the cashier BILLS ONLY to cover the total. Ex) If the total is $1.25, give her $2.00 in bills.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When the cashier gives you your change back, SAVE IT!

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Save it in a large container with a top that you can not see into.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When that emergency comes around (and you know it will), simply cash in the coins and put it toward your unexpected expense.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Skeptical? Last year I alone saved up $127.00 worth of change. In a larger family of 4, coins will most definitely add up to much more.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Some efficiency tips are:

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Take a clean glass salsa container (or anything that will fit in the cup holder of your car) punch a hole in the top large enough for the money to go through. Keep it stashed in the consoled of your car so you don't end up with coins all over the floor board.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Ladies, whenever you buy something, toss the change in the bottom of your purse. When you clean out your purse once a month, you will undoubtedly get a giggle from the amount of loose change you've saved in there.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">When its time to cash in your coins, don't go to one of those machines that charges you 7 cents per dollar! Most banks have a machine that won't charge you. See if your bank has one, if they don't consider opening up an account with a bank that does.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">This method is easy and produces results, not much results, but a little is better than nothing I always say. Get your kids in on it too, make it a learning experience for them. Teaching kids about money early in life will instill much needed future responsibility and character.

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Give it a try. Please tell me what you think!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Have you tried this technique before? Did it work? Let me know!
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Good Luck
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Students, it's the weekend, tests are over, time to go to the local pub and kick back a few or hit the movies for a little well deserved RnR with friends. One problem, you don't have any money! Why?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Struggling Graduates, trying to make it in this crazy adult world, the bills seem to hit you all at once. One problem, you don't have any money! Why?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Single Parents, you've got mouths to feed, diapers to buy, a college fund to set up for the kids. One problem, you don't have the money! Why?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">You are either going to answer this question one of two ways...
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">"I don't make enough money" or...
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">"I have too much debt"
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Both answers are correct, BUT its not that simple.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I'm going to explain it to you by way of Top Line - Bottom Line.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Lets start with the Top Line.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">***Top Line, is a business term that simply refers to a company's Total Revenues. When a company is "growing its Top Line," that means they are doing whatever they can do to increase sales revenue. Simply put, they are trying to earn more money.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Think of your life as a business. (Jane Doe Co. LLC) Businesses have to make money to keep going, and so do you. Money is necessary to buy supplies, manufacture goods, pay expenses, promote growth. A company can not pay its debts without producing adequate revenue. So it would be safe to assume that the more money a company makes, the more stable its financial position is, right?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Not Quite... A company can be making money out the wazoo, but at the end of the day, if their expenses are sky high, that company will suffer a loss.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">***Bottom Line, is a very broad term that refers to anything that may decrease a companies earnings. When a company is said to be "improving the Bottom Line," it means they are trying to cut costs. Costs can be anything from employee wadges, to the raw materials used to manufacture goods. Many costs are unavoidable and necessary to keep a company going, like raw materials mentioned above. Others, like marketing expenses can be scaled down a bit. Unnecessary costs, like paying for every employees lunch, can be cut out completely.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Usually when a company is trying to boost is revenue, it focuses on either the Top Line, or the Bottom Line.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">You, however, need to focus on BOTH.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It's not enough to just make more money. You must incorporate the two. Earn more money AND cut your costs. This will result in you being able to keep more money in your pocket, pay bills, go out, and save.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here are some tips to grow your Top Line:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Get a second job, nobody said living was easy

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Make money online

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Donate plasma

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Collect cans and recycle them for cash

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Put cloths you don't want anymore on consignment

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Bar tend, I hate to advise anyone to moonlight, but I do it and make good money

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Students Sell Class Notes for cash or become a tutor

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Students, buy granola bars and apples in bulk, sell them to hungry piers in the hallways for a dollar

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Fall is here, rake leaves

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Take pictures, sell them online

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Here are some tips to improve your Bottom Line.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Quit spending money on retarded crap, if you don't need it, don't buy it

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Whenever possible, walk to your destination instead of driving

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Don't go out so much, the dance club will get by without you

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I know you like your peddi and manni, but they are expensive and not necessary

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Stop shopping for new clothes. Just because it's on sale doesn't mean you need it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Use coupons wherever you shop. You can find thoes online or in the local paper

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">All extras like Netflix, HBO, expensive mineral makeup, and organic chocolate ice cream must go (guilty as charged)

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Don't buy your child everything they cry for. Trust me when I tell you, that is the quickest way to spoil a child

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Stop eating out or switch to the dollar menu

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Stop paying for car washes, do it yourself, or let the kids do it!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Quit smoking and dipping. It's bad for you anyway

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">***One big thing I've noticed alot of college students and teens running into is tickets (speeding - guilty). Speeding tickets and DUI's cost lots and LOTS of money. I racked up over $1,000 worth of speeding tickets before the age of 20. What a big waste. Be responsible people. No one needs this added cost.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">RECAP: Earn more, Spend less...easy hu?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">So there you go. Try it out, and let me know the outcome.
Personally, not so much. I am however, feeling the weight of my parents pressing down firmly on my nerves. (that subject needs a blog of its own) So, the time has now come for me and my daughter to move out, and find a place of our own. This of course is guna cost money. Money that I don't exactly have...
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I have a nest egg set aside that may be enough, but I hate to exhaust my entire savings to move out. I go to school during the day, and currently work only Friday and Saturday night. I can't pick up more shifts at the restaurant because that would inconvenience my parents; only making things worse. Babysitters are hard to come by during the school year, so after much pondering, I've decided to look outside the box.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I was introduced to Amazon's Mechanical Turk by a professor of mine and decided to give it a try.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Amazon Mechanical Turk<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> is an online market place for work. Businesses and developers post jobs for workers to do and pay them anywhere from one cent to a couple of bucks for completed work. In this case the sellers are the business people, with the money to give away, and the buyers are the workers (like me) who are more than happy to trade their spare time, in exchange for money. I signed up and started making money right away! Not much, but something is better than nothing.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I have made $9.48 in three days! Not so bad if you ask me. On average, there are 30 days in a month, say $10 every 3 days, that's what...$100 a month, 12 months out of the year, that's an extra $1200 a year!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">After fiddling around with the different jobs. This is, in my opinion, the best way to maximize your $ with the least amount of effort...

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Look for jobs with a large amount of HIT's Available, like 500+. I found that those jobs didn't pay much (20 cents or less), but they were EASY and only took like 20 seconds or so to complete. Put in about 2 hrs of nonstop work, and you'll be surprised (as was I) to see the money add up.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Look for jobs with only 1 HIT with payouts of 25 cents or more that take less than 5 minutes to complete. There are not many of these out there, but once you are able to spot them, the more time you'll save yourself. Try the college Psych surveys. They are short and pay well.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The key to making money with the Mechanical Turk is being able to spot the good ones, and quickly move on from the duds. This will take some trial and error, which is fine, but don't waste your time just looking around and picking whatever looks good.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">If you pick a HIT that is too difficult or time consuming, close out and try another one! The main criteria for earning an EASY extra income is to make money with the least amount of effort possible.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It is free to sign up at Amazon's Mechanical Turk. It has been a success for me. Personally I use my Mechanical Turk earnings to Pay for Text Books.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Try it out and tell me what you think?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Have any questions I could help you with? Please Ask!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Used Mechanical Turk before? Tell me about your experience.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">How many people are watching commercials everyday? Hello, all of us! Now you can get paid cash for watching those commercials. How you ask! With InboxDollars Videos. InboxDollars is a GPT site that offers its members many easy ways to earn money online. One of my personal favorites is to earn money by watching commercials and short videos.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">It's simple and the money is credited immediately into your member account. Once you <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">sign up with InboxDollars<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> you will be eligible to watch 5-10 videos a week.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Simply Log in, then click on the Videos Tab. Next, click on the Play button that says "Click Here to Launch Video Player." A short 3 question survey must be filled out before you can view your videos.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">After you answer your short survey, you will be given a list of videos you can watch for cash! A video will begin and InboxDollars will display 2 different numbers at 2 different times across either the top/bottom or left/right of the video.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I would recommend keeping a pen and pad next to you when watching the videos. My brain is so ADD sometimes that I'll forget the numbers as soon as any distraction pops up. Write the 2 numbers down that flash across the video. After the video is over, you will be prompted to type in the 2 numbers that you saw in any order.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Type those 2 numbers and hit enter. And BAM! You've just earned 2-4 cents!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Enter the incorrect numbers, and you get no credit, and you can't watch the video again. So Pay Attention!

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Most Get Paid To sites offer its members referral rewards. Referral Rewards with InboxDollars is very profitable. Once you have <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">signed up with Inboxdollars<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> you will want to tell your friends about all the success you've had. Telling your friends how they can earn money online is not only profitable for them, but for you as well! You will receive a percentage of their earnings just for referring them to Inboxdollars.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">As a member of <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Inboxdollars<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">, you will receive a 10% commission from those you refer to Inboxdollars. This means that if someone signs up under your referral link, and they successfully complete an offer for $1.00, you will instantly receive .10 from their qualified earnings. If they earn $20.00 with Inboxdollars, your account will be credited $2.00.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">You do not earn your 10% when your referrals read their daily emails, use the toolbar, or complete profile surveys. Your referrals must complete offers, do surveys, shop online, or redeem coupons in order for you to receive your Referral Rewards.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The greatest part is, you still receive the 10% credit from your referrals even if they quit before they reach the $30.00 payout. There is also no cap on the amount of referral rewards you can receive.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">And once you reach <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Gold Membership with Inboxdollars<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> you will be eligable to earn even more Referral Rewards.Emilyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01222300282096131306noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9049120653660454660.post-45383534400849954782010-04-05T14:48:00.000-05:002011-04-14T13:13:24.141-05:00Gold Membership with InboxDollars
